The City of Joplin broke ground on MOmentum Bike Park on Feb. 24, 2025.
The City never had such a well-attended groundbreaking ceremony in recent memory. There was clearly a lot of excitement for the new bike park to be constructed in the Dover Outdoor Recreation Area. Families were there on bicycles while representatives from City Council, the Parks Board, Parks & Rec Department staff, City Management, Convention & Visitors Bureau, and local groups such as Bike Walk Joplin and businesses involved in the construction project including SWT Design, Crossland Construction, and American Ramp Company turned over the first shovel-fulls of dirt.
